Music at TrinityMusic is a very important part of worship at Trinity. The goal of Trinity's musical ensembles is the worship and glorification of our Lord using the abilities that each of us has been given. We welcome everyone to join our ensembles. Previous musical experience is not mandatory for most of our groups. You will find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere in each choir. We have fun working together and enjoy each other's company. Listed below are the various options of "musical praise" you will find within our church family. We encourage you to find a home within the Trinity choir(s) of your choice. Musical or drama ensembles other than those listed will be implemented as the need and/or interest arises. We also encourage instrumental and vocal solos. The Chancel Choir, composed of vocalists high school age and above, sings most Sunday mornings, usually alternating between the early and late services. This Choir sings anthems that range from classical to contemporary in style. The Choir is continually seeking new members to join the ensemble. No previous musical experience is required. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m., except in the Advent and Lenten seasons when rehearsal begins at 7:45. The Handbell Choir plays approximately once a month and on special days like Christmas Eve and Easter. This four-octave handbell choir is presently open for one full time ringer and substitute ringers. This ensemble rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m., except in the Advent and Lenten seasons when rehearsal begins at 6:00 p.m. Here is Morning Has Broken The Children's Choir, composed of vocalists in 1st grade through middle school, sings at least once a month and also for special services. There is no prior musical experience needed for this ensemble. This Choir rehearses on the first three Tuesdays of the month at 6:15 p.m. Handbells and rhythm instruments are utilized. Trinity's Instrumental Ensemble is an outlet for people of middle school age and older who play a musical instrument (band/orchestra) to join their talents together to praise our Lord. The ability level of music played makes it "player friendly" to those who haven't played their instruments in a while to those with some beginning experience to those who are professionals. The Instrumental Ensemble plays once a month and practices the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Heart of Praise Trinity's praise band, normally leads worship on the second Sunday of each month at both services. During the winter season it rehearses on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM. The Praise Band offers music of a more contemporary style. It is also looking for additional instrumentalists and vocalists. Special Music is also a big part of Trinity's worship of our Lord, examples of which include vocal and/or instrumental solos or duets, piano solos, Men's Chorus, etc. Volunteer performers are always welcomed. Choir rehearsals are suspended during summer months. Please prayerfully consider checking out the choir/choir(s) in which you are interested. If you have any questions contact Twylia Voshol, music director, or any member of the various Trinity choirs. |
